ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA —
The Italian Smart Living 2026 exhibition has registered strong international support as it continues to celebrate Italy’s rich legacy of design, innovation and craftsmanship while strengthening business and investment partnerships across Africa.
The Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Sem Fabrizi, said the exhibition reflects Italy’s enduring heritage of craftsmanship, innovation and design excellence, noting that Italian brands have built a global reputation by combining tradition with creativity, quality and sustainability.
The three-day exhibition, running from 7th–9th July 2026 at the Ethiopia Science Museum in Addis Ababa, has brought together government leaders, architects, developers, interior designers, investors and business executives from across East Africa and beyond.
Organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in collaboration with the National Confederation of Craft and SMEs (CNA), the event features curated exhibitions, high-level discussions on sustainable construction and smart cities, B2B matchmaking sessions, an Italian Design Masterclass, and showcases highlighting Italy’s world-renowned brands and innovation.
The exhibition has attracted significant interest from African stakeholders seeking stronger partnerships with Italian companies in the areas of real estate, hospitality, interior design, sustainable construction and urban development.
Delegates like the IDAU representatives from Uganda have hailed the platform as a catalyst for expanding commercial cooperation and knowledge exchange between Italy and Africa.
Representing Luxury Network Africa and EHS Group, Dr. Edwin Musiime commended the Italian Trade Agency for creating a platform that continues to strengthen Italy–Africa business relations.
“The Italian Trade Agency deserves commendation for this remarkable initiative that celebrates the heritage and excellence of Italian brands while opening meaningful opportunities for collaboration across Africa,” said Dr. Edwin Musiime.
The celebration of Italy’s globally respected brands has reaffirmed the country’s reputation for excellence, quality and timeless design, while opening new opportunities for investment and collaboration across the continent.
As the exhibition heads towards its final day on 9th July 2026, organisers and partners are already looking beyond Addis Ababa, with discussions gaining momentum around broader Africa–Italy collaborations, including a forthcoming Italian Smart Living showcase in Uganda.
